POSITION PURPOSE:
Administrative Assistant provides support to the Health & Wellness and Marketing Departments, performing general technical, clerical, administrative and record keeping duties; provides support for a variety of electronic/digital platforms used for tracking, education, internal and external communications, and marketing.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED required; must possess a broad knowledge base of multiple computer applications with a strong background in graphics and electronic media; must be literate in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Word); have competent typing skills. They should be knowledgeable users of Facebook, YouTube and other trending social media platforms. Familiarity with WordPress, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact and Doodle poll. Knowledge of video as a communication tool is helpful. This individual should be able to operate such general office machines as keyboard, tablet, laptop, projectors, digital cameras, fax and photocopier. The work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, data entry and proofing; ability to create event flyers; and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines is necessary. Discretion and decision making is required. Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands. This individual must possess a current driver’s license.

ENVIRONMENT:
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22 bed acute care hospital and 28 bed long term care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. The working environment is generally pleasant, clean and well maintained. The position requires a moderate amount of mobility. The ability to reason, speak and have basic manual dexterity is essential. There may be the need to attend meetings, classes and events both inside and outside of the Hospital setting. Physical demands are moderate and may include sitting for prolonged periods, standing, walking, stooping, twisting and occasional lifting. Psychological demands can be strenuous. Most work is performed inside and the work is generally of a positive nature.

WORK HOURS:
This position is 30 hours per week with possible additonial hours as needed for events.
