KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The occupational therapy position requires: A degree in Occupational Therapy from a university accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association, a license to practice occupational therapy in the state of Alaska, or the ability to acquire same in an appropriate time frame. Current CPR certification. Three or more years of experience in occupational therapy are preferred in a variety of clinical settings.
South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed acute care hospital with a 28 bed Long Term Care Facility. Physical demands are moderate and may require heavy lifting, periods of prolonged standing, and the ability to assist patients as needed.
OT will need to be comfortable providing service to Acute Care patients, Long Term Care patients and orthopedic as well as neurological patients in an outpatient setting. The ability to make custom splints for hand therapy and be comfortable with pediatric clients are also desirable.
