REGISTRATION/FRONT DESK CUSTOMER SERVICE REP (PCN 990)

A Casual Registration/Front Desk Customer Service Representative (RFDCSR) will be available to cover vacations and sick leave for two positions. They must be able to work eight and twelve hour shifts, work weekends and/or nights. Multi-task in a fast pace atmosphere and be flexible in job duties. These two positions require different functions and both require excellent customer service with attention to detail.
Registration captures and verifies all the information necessary for proper and clean registration of outpatient services. Reviews and audits all registered accounts on a daily basis to ensure sufficient financial data and patient demographics was gathered to expedite processing for prompt payment of claims or self-pay accounts. The Registration Representative will verify insurance and obtain and/or assist in obtaining any prior authorizations needed to authorize services and process prompt payment of claims. The Registration Representative must be able to communicate effectively and pleasantly both over the phone and in person.
Front Desk/Customer Service processes excellent customer care to our patients, employees, visitors and vendors while maintaining positive community relations and performing the duties of the Switchboard Operator and Front Desk reception. The RFDCSR must be able to collect payments and have good accounting skills. This position must communicate effectively and pleasantly both on the phone and in person.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The RFDCSR position requires the incumbent possess the minimum of a high school diploma and two to three years of experience in computerized hospital patient accounts is preferred. This individual should be able to type 40 wpm, operate such general office machines as a computer, adding machine by touch, photocopier, FAX and multi-line switchboard phone system. This position must present a professional appearance, deal courteously and respectfully with patients, be able to learn and follow established departmental policies, be able to perform work with attention to detail, be able to maintain accurate records and be able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.
