This Clinic Billing Manager position is located in our Patient Financial Services Department.

Hours:

This position is a Full-Time position with 80 hours a pay period (1.0 FTE) 

What you'll do:

  • The Clinic Billing Manager will be responsible for the billing operations of clinic services provided at South Peninsula Hospital. 
  • Will develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of the departments as directed; maintains and improves the quality of care in accordance with state and federal regulations and the hospital’s quality improvement program; and works harmoniously with other departments of the hospital to improve and strengthen the operation of the entire hospital.
  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Billing, Follow-Up and Receipting staff to include: coordinating employee schedules and resolving staffing issues, ensuring appropriately trained staff work within the department, and effectively utilizes all staffing resources for the maintenance of the units. 
  • This position reports to the Revenue Cycle Director and serves as a liaison with all other hospital departments as well as community agencies when appropriate. 

What you'll need:

  • The Clinic Billing Manager position requires the minimum of a high school diploma.
  • Must have at least 3 years of billing, collections, and customer service experience, with 5 years preferred. 
  • This position requires a minimum of two to three years of supervisory experience working in a hospital patient account department with a broad base of experience in all positions associated with hospital patient account positions.
  • Working knowledge and use of Medical Terminology. Knowledge of Health Information Management requirements.
  • The qualified individual shall possess the core competencies to complete the tasks given and hold certification in billing or coding through AAPC or AHIMA.
  • This individual must have a working knowledge and experience with computer applications, be detail orientated, and able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated use of Microsoft programs, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are necessary qualifications for this position.
  • The ability to type, edit, and proof work are essential skills for this position.

About Us:

South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22 bed acute care and 28 bed long term care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The environment is generally pleasant, is clean and well maintained. The position requires walking, sitting for prolonged periods, stooping, and standing. Generally, physical demands are light and most work is performed inside. Working hours may fluctuate based on the demands of the work.
