RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide medical nutrition therapy, nutrition education and counseling to hospitalized patients, long term care residents, and outpatients. 
• Nutrition education for any disease process requires medical nutrition therapy. 
• Interdepartmental collaboration for discharge planning and quarterly interdisciplinary care conferences.
• Assist the Nutrition Services Manager with menu planning and quality improvement/risk management program development and monitoring.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in food science, nutrition or Foodservice Administration.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and licensed within the State of Alaska.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in inpatient or outpatient Dietitian experience.
• Must have computer and software capabilities to create and analyze data.
• Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 25 pounds without self-injury, as well as the ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, including stooping and sitting.

ABOUT US:

South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital (CAH) located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula.  There is a 28 bed long term care facility attached to the hospital.
