RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the hospital’s Quality Improvement, Infection Prevention, Employee Health, and Education programs
- Collaborate with department leaders and medical staff to support compliance, performance improvement, and best practices.
- Ensure alignment of quality initiatives with the hospital’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals.
- Analyze data and report on quality metrics to drive continuous improvement across departments.
- Provide mentorship and guidance on regulatory standards, risk mitigation, and patient safety.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state of Alaska
- Bachelor degree in nursing or related field
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) within 2 years of hire date
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hospital setting, including management experience
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Experience with CMS survey protocols, regulatory standards
- Effective speaking, listening, and writing skills
ENVIRONMENT
SPH is a combined 22-bed critical access hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care Facility located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, and sitting. Persons in this position may be exposed to infectious diseases, including blood-borne pathogens, specifically when conducting follow-up with patients and/or community members. Typically, physical demands are light to moderate with most work performed inside. Work hours may fluctuate depending upon the needs of the organization.
