RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Plan and implement hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons using the Creative Curriculum.
  • Support children’s social-emotional and cognitive development through structured play and nature-based activities.
  • Collaborate with families, staff, and leadership to provide individualized care and developmental support.
  • Assess and document children’s learning, behaviors, and progress to guide instructional decisions.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, sit on the floor, and stand for extended periods.
  • Preferred: Active Child Care Associate (CCA) Credential and SEED Level 4–5; commitment to achieving SEED Level 6–7 within one year.
  • Food Handlers Card and 3 professional references required.
  • Experience in early childhood education preferred; knowledge of Montessori, Waldorf, or Expeditionary Learning is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ability to create lesson plans and reports.
  • Completion of 24 hours of paid annual professional development.

The position requires a moderate amount of mobility. The ability to reason, speak and have basic manual dexterity is essential. Physical Demands are moderate and may include sitting, standing for prolonged periods, walking, stooping and lifting. Work if performed both inside and outside and the work is generally of a positive nature.
