Facilities, includes the areas of Plant Operations, Bio-Medical Engineering, Maintenance, and Security. The Facilities Manager oversees the activities of these areas and provides leadership to subordinate staff to insure cost-effective, high quality, consistent support operations for the entire facility. The Facilities Manager may function as Safety Officer and coordinate Emergency Preparedness Plan.  The Facilities Manager ensures that the support activities of the hospital are planned, organized and resourced appropriately to contribute to mission accomplishment. The Manager evaluates program performance and ensures productivity through data collection and statistical analysis. Assists with data collection necessary for preparation of Medicare Cost Reports and other required reports. Maintains an accurate inventory of fixed and moveable equipment and utilizes a computerized preventive maintenance system to insure proper, efficient operation of facility equipment. This position organizes and maintains a file of all maintenance contracts for facility equipment and rental property leases. The Facilities Manager serves as the primary liaison between the hospital and contractors for hospital remodeling and expansion projects.
