Human Resource Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets employees and visitors to the department promptly and in a courteous manner; answers incoming calls, sends and replies to emails, receives and handles faxes
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new employees, including document processing and assessments.
- Oversee the delivery of hospital-wide orientation and onboarding events.
- Manage the student program, facilitating communication with schools and guiding student onboarding.
- Perform general administrative duties including mail handling, invoicing, credit card reconciliation, and scheduling.
- Create marketing and communication materials for the department and maintain internal resources like the webpage and bulletin board.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required; college education in HR, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of general office experience, with strong organizational and clerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) at an intermediate level.
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with HR systems, payroll, and applicant tracking systems (ATS) preferred.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to support department operations and compliance tracking.
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and perform routine office tasks.
ENVIRONMENT:
South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed critical access hospital and 28-bed long-term care Facility located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. The position requires a moderate amount of walking, standing, and sitting. Typically, physical demands are light to moderate, with most work performed inside. This role is primarily office-based within a supportive Human Resources department in a healthcare setting. You’ll interact regularly with hospital staff, students, and external vendors in a fast-paced yet professional environment. Potential hazards include occasional exposure to confidential or sensitive employee information, requiring strict adherence to privacy protocols.
