POSITION HIGHLIGHTS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the Health & Wellness program, PR & Business Development Director and the Foundation Director. 
  • Performs general technical, clerical, administrative and record keeping duties.
  • Provides support for a variety of electronic/digital platforms used for tracking, education, internal and external communication and marketing.
  • Assists with organizing and facilitating on-campus as well as off-campus events and activities, including some nights and weekends.
  • Will support and role-model South Peninsula Hospital’s values and behaviors while working as a collaborative and interdisciplinary team member providing high quality, safe, and cost effective patient care.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required;
  • College degree or studies in Marketing and Communication, or related field is preferred.
  • Must have 1-2 years of relevent experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, must have 3-5 years of relevent experience.
  • Must possess a broad knowledge base of multiple computer applications with a strong background in graphics and electronic media. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Power Point, Publisher, Word); have competent typing skills.
  • Should be a knowledgeable user of Facebook, YouTube and other trending social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with Zoom, WordPress, Mail Chimp, Survey Monkey, Constant Contact and Doodle poll.
  • Knowledge of video as a communication tool is helpful.
  • Must have a strong comprehension of the English language and be able to easily compose written materials.
  • This individual should be able to operate such general office machines as keyboard, tablet, laptop, projectors, digital cameras, fax and copy machines.
  • The work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing, data entry and proofing; ability to create event flyers; and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines is necessary.
  • Discretion and decision making is required.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • This individual must possess a current driver’s license, have a reliable vehicle and be willing to travel and transport materials to and from events.

ENVIRONMENT:

South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital (CAH) located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula.  There is a 28 bed long term care facility attached to the hospital.  

Homer, Alaska, is a seaside town nestled on the shores of beautiful Kachemak Bay, offering breathtaking views of glaciers, mountains and wildlife.
