RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and train medical assistants across three clinic departments.
- Delegate clinical and administrative support tasks to medical assistants.
- Oversee closed loop communication within the electronic health record to ensure timely and accurate care.
- Serve as a primary Vaccine Coordinator, including monitoring inventory and placing vaccine orders.
Provide direct patient care including vitals, chart preparation, and routine clinical procedures under protocol.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Medical Assistant certification required; minimum five years of clinic experience preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, EHR systems, and healthcare documentation practices.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; must be able to train and mentor staff effectively.
- Demonstrated knowledge of preventative care coordination and vaccine handling.
- Must be comfortable performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture and sterile dressing changes.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks in a clinical setting.
High school diploma or GED required.

The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska.
The role offers a fast-paced, team-oriented setting where collaboration is essential to providing outstanding care. Work conditions can include high patient volumes and occasional stressful situations that require rapid problem-solving and adaptability.
