RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct clinical assessments and develop treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver individualized mental health therapy.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record system.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Active Alaska licensure (LMSW, LPC, PsyD) or eligibility to obtain upon hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in individual and/or family therapy.
  • Experience with pediatric/adolescent and adult clients preferred.
  • Proficient in DSM-5/ICD-10 diagnosis and trauma-informed care.
  • Skilled in utilizing assessment tools and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of harm reduction and patient-centered care approaches.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Capable of working independently while contributing positively to team dynamics.
  • Competent with electronic health records and documentation requirements.
  • Physical Requirement: Ability to sit, type, and conduct interviews for extended periods in a clinical setting.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

South Peninsula Hospital is a 22-bed Critical Access Hospital with an attached 28-bed Long-Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. Counselors work closely with a team to serve the community’s mental health needs.
