RESPONSIBILITY

  • Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the Alaska Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
  • Develop individualized therapy goals and plans in collaboration with patients and care teams.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to program development.
  • Provide patient and family education to support ongoing care and recovery.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited university.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Alaska.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Three or more years of clinical experience preferred, with a background across various settings (acute, LTC, outpatient).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
  • Physical Requirements: Moderate physical demands including heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting patients with mobility.

 

ENVIRONMENT:

The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska.
The Occupational Therapist works in a rural setting with diverse patient needs across multiple care environments. Opportunities for cross-training and professional development are encouraged.
