RESPONSIBILITY
- Evaluate and treat patients in accordance with the Alaska Occupational Therapy Practice Act.
- Develop individualized therapy goals and plans in collaboration with patients and care teams.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to program development.
- Provide patient and family education to support ongoing care and recovery.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited university.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Alaska.
- Current CPR certification.
- Three or more years of clinical experience preferred, with a background across various settings (acute, LTC, outpatient).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.
- Physical Requirements: Moderate physical demands including heavy lifting, prolonged standing, and assisting patients with mobility.
ENVIRONMENT:
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska.
The Occupational Therapist works in a rural setting with diverse patient needs across multiple care environments. Opportunities for cross-training and professional development are encouraged.
