This Patient Account Rep 1 - Support Tech position is located in our Rehabilitation Department.


This is a 40 hour per week, Monday through Friday, benefited position.  

Starting Salary: 

$24.74 - $35.03/hr and up, Rate of pay quoted is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. The higher rate of pay is for more years of experience. PLUS shift differentials where applicable.

What you'll do:

  • Provide reception, registration, scheduling, insurance pre-authorization, fields incoming calls, and update patient information in SPH’s computerized medical programs.
  • Maximize department productivity through efficient client scheduling, registration, and superior customer service skills.
  • You will have frequent contact with clients, patients and insurance companies by phone, in person, and in written correspondence, therefore, must be able to communicate effectively and pleasantly.
  • Also provide additional support for the therapy team including inventory and stocking of supplies, general cleaning of items used in therapy, and equipment maintenance.
  • Report to the Rehabilitation Office Coordinator and Rehabilitation Manager, with clinical direction for scheduling from the therapists.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma
  • Two to three years of experience in computerized patient accounts and/or administrative assistant is preferred.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Have excellent keyboard skills (accuracy and speed) and knowledge of various computer applications, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
  • Present a professional appearance, deal courteously and respectfully with clients and patients, be able to learn and follow established departmental policies, be able to perform work with attention to detail, be able to maintain accurate records, and be able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.
