PATIENT ACCOUNT REP 2 - BILLING SPECIALIST (REQ 3691)

This Patient Account Rep 2 - Billing Specialist position is located in our Patient Financial Services department. 

Hours:

This is 40 hour per week, benefited position.

Starting Salary: 

$25.81 - $36.54/hr, rate of pay quoted is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. The higher rate of pay is for more years of experience. PLUS shift differentials where applicable.

What you'll do:

• Verify all of the information necessary to properly submit clean claims to Medicaid, Veterans Administration, and Commercial Insurance. 
• Review all insurance accounts on a consistent basis and will telephone customer support to expedite processing for promptness of payment. 
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date Medicaid, VA, and Commercial Insurance policies and billing procedures, and maintaining Commercial Insurance current contracts. 
• Monitor the Charge Master updates and report any problems to the Patient Financial Services Manager. 
• Be able to communicate effectively and pleasantly both over the phone and in person.

What you'll need:

• Have the minimum of a high school diploma
• Two to three years of experience in computerized hospital patient accounts is preferred.
• Be able to operate such general office machines as a computer, adding machine by touch, photocopier, FAX and multi-line switchboard phone system. 
• Present a professional appearance, deal courteously and respectfully with patients, be able to learn and follow established departmental policies, be able to perform work with attention to detail, be able to maintain accurate records and be able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.
