This Patient Account Rep 2 - Financial Navigator position is located in our Patient Financial Services department. 

Hours:

This is an on-call, non-benefited position.

Starting Salary: 

$29.68 - $42.03/hr** and up, rate of pay quoted is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. The higher rate of pay is for more years of experience. PLUS shift differentials where applicable.

**Hourly rates quoted include 15% added in lieu of benefits.

What you'll do:

  • Perform a high degree of customer service while establishing rapport and trust with patients and their families.
  • Pursue the collection of outstanding account balances, obtain insurance authorizations for services and process financial assistance applications. 
  • Provide exceptional service and integrity with customers through accurate, timely, relevant, and quality work efforts of all inventory assigned. 
  • Have knowledge of billing and collection practices to include a thorough understanding of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and an understanding of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial Insurances. 
  • Be able to communicate effectively and pleasantly both over the phone and in person. 

What you'll need:

  • Must possess the minimum of a high school diploma
  • Two to three years of experience in computerized hospital patient accounts is preferred.
  • Existing experience in Registration, Financial Counseling, Medical Billing and/or Coding are specifically preferred.
  • Annual education to obtain and maintain Certified Application Counselor and Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility status is required.
  • Able to operate such general office machines as a typewriter, computer, adding machine by touch, photocopier, FAX and multi-line switchboard phone system. 
  • Must be familiar with Word, Excel, legal forms, legal proceedings and insurance practices. 
  • This position must present a professional appearance, deal courteously and respectfully with patients, be able to learn and follow established departmental policies, be able to perform work with attention to detail, be able to maintain accurate records and be able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.
