RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Front Desk Customer Service Representative is a basic accounting position within the parameters of a computerized Patient Account system.
• Provide excellent customer service to our customers, employees, visitors and vendors while maintaining positive community relations and performing the duties of the Switchboard Operator and Front Desk reception.
• Communicate effectively and pleasantly both on the phone and in person.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 -3 years collection experience in computerized hospital patient accounts preferred
• Operate office equipment (phones, printers, scanners, faxes, etc.)
• Presents a professional appearance, deals courteously and respectfully with patients, and follows established departmental policies.
• Perform work with attention to detail and maintain accurate records
• Contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment

ENVIRONMENT:
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska.  The Patient Financial Services Department provides reception, registration, billing, collections and receipting functions for the hospital and Long Term Care.
