PHARMACY TECHNICIAN (TEMP POSITION)

Pharmacy Technicians, under the direction and supervision of a pharmacist, provides assistance in filling and computer entry of orders, billing and posting of pharmacy charges, perform clerical duties, maintaining inventory, and processing out-patient prescriptions. They have the primary responsibility for billing/posting charges and maintaining inventory systems.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
The Pharmacy Technician is licensed by the State of Alaska. Pharmacy Technicians should have completed a Pharmacy Technician Course or have 2 years experience as a pharmacy technician. They should have experience with wholesale ordering and inventory control. This individual should be able to operate such general office machines as a typewriter, personal computer, adding machine, fax machine, and photocopier.
South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. Attached to this facility is a 28 bed long term care facility. The Pharmacy Technician provides supervised professional services to patients and clerical support for the pharmacy. Physical demands are light, however limited lifting of up to 40 pounds may be required without assistance. Essentially, all work is performed inside. Working hours may fluctuate, based on patient numbers and other work requirements
