RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate behavioral health patient care.
  • Educate and triage patients receiving behavioral health services.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and care plans using electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Assist with nursing duties at other hospital clinics as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse license required.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Experience in behavioral health care preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficient with electronic health record systems for documentation.
  • Ability to educate patients and manage triage effectively.
  • Physical ability to sit and type for extended periods. 

 

ENVIRONMENT:

Serene Waters Clinic is part of South Peninsula Hospital, a clean and well-maintained facility offering critical access hospital and outpatient services in a welcoming setting. Most work is performed indoors with light physical demands, including patient interviews and computer documentation. The position involves minimal physical risks but requires prolonged sitting and typing, which may contribute to ergonomic strain if proper precautions are not taken.
