The Revenue Cycle Analyst is a leadership support role within the Patient Financial Services Department. The major purpose of this position is to support and assist the Revenue Cycle Director in the areas of reporting, analysis and researching billing or payment issues throughout all areas of patient financial services including registration, financial counseling, billing, cash posting, payer enrollment, denials, and accounts receivable.  The Revenue Cycle Analyst will model and exemplify SPH’s Values & Behaviors.


This is a confidential position covered under the personnel policies of the Employee Manual for Managers and Confidential Employees.  The incumbent may, from time to time, be required to work more than forty hours per week.  The individual in this position understands and supports the overall goals of the administration of the hospital and manages the resources and activities of the Patient Financial Services Department to assist in accomplishing the hospital’s goals. The Revenue Cycle Analyst must be self-directed; be able to work with minimal supervision; and be willing to accept the responsibility of assisting with the administering of the department.  The Revenue Cycle Analyst maintains and improves the quality of care in accordance with state and federal regulations and the hospital’s policies and quality improvement program; and works harmoniously with other departments of the hospital to improve and strengthen the operation of the entire hospital.  The Revenue Cycle Analyst reports to the Revenue Cycle Director and serves as a liaison with all other hospital departments, as well as community agencies where appropriate. 



  • Minimum – High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum - Five (5) years of revenue cycle experience required with preference given to those with billing or coding experience. 
  • Experience with reporting functions in Trubridge EHR, Athena, EPIC, PCC and RCM Software is preferred.
  • Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding principles.
  • Knowledge & experience with reporting & analysis, including advanced excel skills.
  • A Certification in Revenue Cycle through AAPC, AHIMA, HFMA or AAHAM.
