STARTING SALARY:
$24.28 - $28.18/hr** and up (rate of pay range quoted is for 0-10 years of experience, rate is higher with more years of experience, PLUS shift differentials where applicable) **Hourly rate includes additional 15% added in lieu of benefits.
What you'll do:
The Security Officer is a position in the Security Department:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the security program.
- Perform a variety of tasks including but not limited to; daily rounds, monthly fire extinguisher & emergency station checks, and completing work orders as assigned through the Facilities department.
- The position is supervised by the Safety & Security Manager.
What you'll need:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- No previous experience required.
- Would prefer a minimum of 1 year relevant experience (Security, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Fire and Emergency Services, Military) or 2 years of relevant education in lieu of experience.
- Must obtain the basic level certification from the International Association of Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) within 6 months of hire.
- Must maintain the Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated ability and expertise with conflict resolution & de-escalation techniques.
- Must be able to read, write and understand English; follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to pass a Job Function Test and meet the physical demands of the job.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must have good communication and listening skills.
- Must be able to perform work with attention to detail, be flexible in work assignment and work competently in stressful situations.
