RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operate a multi-line telephone switchboard to manage internal and external communications.
- Promptly answer, screen, and direct incoming calls in a courteous and professional manner.
- Provide general information and route inquiries to the appropriate departments or personnel.
- Accurately relay messages and maintain contact directories.
- Assist with emergency code calls and paging announcements as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in a call center, reception, or hospital communications role preferred. - Excellent verbal communication, listening, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer use and office equipment.
- Strong multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Professional phone etiquette and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or stoop.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
ENVIRONMENT:
The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. South Peninsula Hospital offers a welcoming and clean facility with a team-oriented atmosphere. The work involves moderate physical activity and occasional psychological stress, but is generally performed in a positive, supportive indoor setting.
